چکیده

Information on artificial breeding of Cirrhinus reba and Labeo bata is not common in Bangladesh. There are reports serious decline natural abundance these species considered threatened under present environmental situation. The should be brought culture systems to protect them from being dwindled. For optimizing the technique, experiment was conducted. Nine pairs male female each were used. females both divided into three treatment groups (T1, T2 T3). Weight ranged 110 140g 80 105g respectively, same for 310 388g 180 260g respectively. C. injected a first dose 0.5, 1.0 1.5 mg PG kg-1 body weight followed by second 4.0, 4.5 5.0 respectively after 6 hours dose. doses L. as first, 4.5, 5.5 weight. A single males 2.0 Single pair mating performed semi-natural conditions nine separate hapas with continuous showering at temperature range 27-28 0C. highest average fertilization hatching obtained 87.88% 81.47% that 86.19% 75.00% T2.The percentage against comparatively low hormone this noteworthy.

Sublethal temperature stress in juvenile Labeo rohita (Ham-Buch.) and Rita rita (Ham.): some physiological changes.

Juveniles of fish L. rohita and R. rita subjected to a rapid (5 min) sublethal temperature increase from 28 to 35 degrees C showed significant increase in cortisol and decrease in interrenal ascorbic acid. Hypercholesterolemia, hyperglycemia and hyperlactemia were also evident accompanied by increased blood haemoglobin and haematocrit and stable protein levels. Compensatory responses were initi...

Molecular characterization of Myxobolus cuttacki (Myxozoa, Myxosporea, Bivalvulida) infecting gill lamellae of minor carp Labeo bata (Ham.)

As new pathogenic strains are emerging and threatening aquaculture development, myxosporeans (Myxozoa) are receiving much attention in recent years. Myxosporean taxonomy is traditionally based on morphology of the myxospore stage. Molecular data on Indian myxosporeans are rare. In this report, the 18S rRNA gene sequence of Myxobolus cuttacki infecting gill lamellae of minor carp Labeo bata (Ham...

Zinc induced histological changes in brain and liver of Labeo rohita (Ham.).

Labeo rohita fingerlings were exposed to zinc metal toxicity (5 and 10 ppm) for duration of 5 and 15 days. The histological changes were studied in brain and liver of the treated fish. The brain tissues showed enlarged pyramidal cells with extensive vacoulation while severe necrosis, haemorrhage and degeneration of hepatocytes were witnessed in the liver tissues.
